Is Myko free?
Yes. Free to use, fork and modify, with no account.
Is it open source?
Yes, GPL-3.0. The desktop app and this website are both public on GitHub.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account system and no backend operated by this project.
Can I use my own API key?
Yes. Add a key for any supported provider, or point Myko at LM Studio, Ollama or MLX and stay offline. Keys are stored in your OS keychain.
Where does my code go?
Nowhere unless you send it. Prompts and file context go only to the provider you configure.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows (installer and MSI) and Linux (AppImage, .deb, .rpm). macOS can be built from source.
Why does Windows warn me?
The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows a warning. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
